While this park is well maintained with plenty for the entire family to do, you can’t go wrong with the exceptional customer service from the general manager Kolby. Yes the park has trains that come by regularly but if you know that ahead of time, it’s actually fun to watch them and you just use white noise machine or ear plugs if you’re a light sleeper. The view is awesome to see the trains, the park and the Mississippi River (you can even see tugs and barges coming in and out of the Lock and Dam #11)! Convenient to the adorable town of Dubuque and just about everything you could possibly need. The park was safe and even had a restaurant and live music on the summer weekends. Sites are level, no Wi-Fi at the park but the ATT signal was strong. We don’t recommend the laundry facilities here though… we opted for the nice clean laundromats in town instead. The incredible customer support we received from Kolby though makes us recommend this spot to anyone looking for a great and comfortable place to stay.

This is a great place if you’re looking to have a fun, lazy, weekend getaway! Food and drinks were very good as well! We rented a glamping pod for the weekend, and although it was a super neat little cabin, I feel like the price is a pretty high considering you have to bring ALL of you own stuff including bedding. For $250 a night (almost $500 for the whole weekend) I feel like there should at least be a made bed already set up for you. Overall, I would definitely come back and stay again for the weekend, as long as prices don’t go up!

A little expensive in my opinion but overall a great stay over a long weekend. Some things seemed like they were nickel and dimed, probably an RJourney thing. Good food and drinks at the clubhouse and pool/beach bars. Clean bathrooms and bathhouse but the showers didnt have hot water. Great location, quiet and secluded minus the trains. We knew there were gonna be trains coming through before we booked, some blare their horns more than others but it was actually easier to ignore than some of the reviews made it seem!

Not a bad campground. It is clean. A lot of seasonal, only a few were friendly. Check in was ok, lady on duty was friendly and polite. Had an issue with our camper and husband went to the office and the guy was rude as it wasn't 11 am and they weren't open, but the open sign was on. Another worker was polite and helped us find a mobile repair shop. We spent 9 days here, they have an Aqua park, if you are a camper it is 15 dollars a day to use it, and I could not find that on their website, you would think for over 900 dollars for the stay it would be included. Make sure you have your wrist bands on at all times or employees will not believe you are camping their and then the Aqua park is 30 dollars a day. Bath house is clean, but has a push button shower which didn't seem to have hot water .

I would give it a 5 stars but I wish they let people know when they check in that there’s a closed sign on the cabanas you paid for, just so kids aren’t jumping on it and you could still use it. We paid for a lounger but wasn’t aware that we could go on with the closed sign up, so we wasted money on something we didn’t know we could use! Other than that it was great and the Pods were perfect for the two of us!

This is our families 3rd year in a row coming here. It’s always a great time. The only negative thing I would say is, when you spend get a cabin and it says it sleeps 7, but they only give you enough wristbands for 5, and have you pay for the additional ones, we think is a little much. I believe if you stay and book a trip, you should get as many wristbands for the amount of people in your family, or for how many the cabin sleeps. That’s my opinion. We are already looking forward to booking for next year again.

All in all a great place, food and drinks were really good. It's been updated and relatively clean except public restrooms near the pool. Then there are the trains... If you like trains all day and night blowing the horn and shaking your RV pick the spots on the outside edge of the lake. We were able to move our RV to other side which was better but could occasionally hear the rain horn at night. Despite this we enjoyed the campground and the staff was great too. Don't forget to have a "train shot"!

I really enjoyed the campground the views were awesome. Was really nervous about all the reviews of the trains. We were far enough away to make it tolerable. It's part of commerce. I would have rated 5 star had it not been for the fact the aqua park is not included in the price of the stay. We didn't take advantage of it because with multiple kids at $15 a person over a 3 day visit that is pretty pricey. I would like to see it included in the stay.

Everything cost money and it's not cheap.. $15 per person per day for the jump pad. (Not included with res.) It's only open from 12-6 and it closes from 1:30 -2:30 everyday for lifeguard breaks. Then closes at 5:15 for the night so they can clean and leave by 6. Felt robbed on that 1. Staff is super nice but all the teen workers start at 7am so you hear golf carts and shouting at 7:01. Place is worth the stay for the kids one time.

For the restaurant, the outside seating has a nice deck with an excellent view of the river and bluffs. The food choices are midrange good, overall the food has been very good for bar, recently I’ve had the coconut shrimp and the pulled pork sandwich, which I would recommend. My wife had the summer salad (w/ cranberries and pecans…) and was pleased the choice. Service people have been inexperienced, the last few times there, but good.

In regards to the restaurant: Second time here. Didn't get to experience too much the first trip other than just to see the resort. Hours posted for the restaurant are hard to determine; especially when no one answers a phone that rings for over 20 minutes. But, apparently on Wednesday nights 7pm is too late for dinner and they close the kitchen if they aren't serving enough people. So, the first trip was a decent waste of gas and time. The second go was better - Got to actually order food and it was delicious! Awesome atmosphere on the deck and very friendly server too.

Great staff, amazing amenities. It is a bit more pricey, but so worth it. I will say that many of the sites are not terribly level, so be prepared to level your camper out, as they are your a bit out of level. Having the sewer on site makes dumping, or running right into it, so easy. The pool is fantastic, the beach is good as well. The food available is reasonably priced and pretty basic bar food. The restrooms and showers were incredibly clean, and not just for a camp ground, for anywhere, they were spotless.

We recently stayed at Coconut Cove and for $50 for full hookup, the price is great! The office staff was so laid back and so friendly. They really went above and beyond to make our trip a great one. The only downfall I would say about this campground is the trains that come by. The campground is right on the train tracks and it's extremely loud all day and night when the trains come by. If you plan on getting any sleep, please bring earplugs or something, because you will be woken up no matter what you are camping in. I read the reviews that talk about the trains, but nothing prepared us for the train horns waiting us up at 2AM, 3AM, 4AM etc.
