Camping Near Redgranite, WI | Complete Guide to Sites & Outdoors

Updated April 2026 Redgranite, WI
There’s a campground in central Wisconsin where your phone becomes useless and nobody cares. No WiFi signal. No push notifications. Just 60 acres of 70-foot red pines, a swimming pond full of kids, and the kind of silence that takes about 24 hours to actually hear.
Pearl Lake RV Campground by RJourney sits outside Redgranite, a small village in Waushara County about 90 minutes north of Madison. The park has been pulling families back since 1969. Some guests have been returning for over 25 years. Their kids now bring their own kids. The sites are sand, the trees are tall, and the bar has garlic pizza and live bands on weekends. It’s camping the way people remember it, before reservation apps and glamping tents with chandeliers.
If you’re looking for rv camping in wisconsin that actually feels like camping, this is the page to read.

The Setting: Pines, Pond, Dark Skies, and No WiFi

Under the Red Pines

The first thing you notice pulling into Pearl Lake RV Campground is the canopy. Towering red pines, some 70 feet tall, filter the sunlight into columns and drop the temperature 5 degrees. The campground covers 60 acres, and the pine cover runs through most of it. These trees were here before the park was built in 1969. They’re the reason people chose this spot in the first place.
Every site sits on sand. No concrete pads, no gravel lots. You pitch your tent or park your rig on soft ground, surrounded by trees that smell like summer camp. The biggest sites (40 through 48) give you room to spread out with awnings, lawn chairs, and a proper campfire setup. Every site includes a picnic table and fire ring.

The Swimming Pond

The swimming pond is the heart of the campground. Sand beach, water slide, and enough space for the whole park to be out there on a hot July afternoon. Kids sprint from their sites in bare feet. Parents set up chairs in the sand. It’s the single most photographed spot on the property, and it’s easy to see why.
The pond sits right on the campground grounds. No car rides, no park passes. Walk out of your site, cross the grass, and you’re swimming. On a 90-degree day in August, there’s no better place to be in Waushara County.

Dark Skies Worth Staying Up For

Central Wisconsin sits far from the light pollution of Milwaukee, Madison, and the Fox Valley metro areas. On a clear night at Pearl Lake, the Milky Way stretches directly overhead. You can pick out constellations without squinting. Planets look like they’re close enough to touch.
Bring a camp chair and a blanket. Sit by the fire ring after the kids fall asleep. Look up. This is something you can’t get at a KOA outside a city, and it’s one of the strongest reasons to camp this far from the interstate.

No WiFi (and That's the Point)

Here’s the truth: Pearl Lake RV Campground has no WiFi. The park’s rural infrastructure doesn’t support it. A hotspot near the office handles the basics if you need to check something quickly.
Most guests treat this as the main selling point.
No group chats pulling you out of a conversation. No work emails at the picnic table. No kids glued to tablets in camp chairs. The phone goes in the camper, and the family goes to the pond, the mini golf course, or the bar and grill. By day 2, nobody misses it. By day 3, nobody wants to leave.
If you’re specifically looking for tent camping in central Wisconsin or a place to take the family off-grid for a weekend, this is the setup you want.

Built in 1969 on 60 acres of Wisconsin pine forest, Pearl Lake RV Campground has outlasted trends and ownership changes because the core formula works: good sites, good people, good trees. Locals still call it “Flanigan’s” after Pat and Dianne Flanigan, who owned the place for 47 years. The Flanigans are still there as seasonals. So are families who have held the same site for decades.
This was Flanigan's for 47 years before we took it on. Plenty of regulars still call it that, and we're fine with it. Some of them have been parking in the same site since the 80s. Our job is to keep the reasons they kept coming back, and give new guests a chance to find them too. — Stacey Herbst, General Manager

Sites & Hookups

Full hookup sites are available with 20-amp, 30-amp, and 50-amp electrical service, water, and sewer. Both pull-through and back-in configurations are offered. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring. All sites are sand pads (no concrete), and every one accommodates tents or campers. The largest sites are 40 through 48.
Tent camping is available for those who prefer to keep things simple. Extended stay and seasonal options mean you can settle in for the whole summer if the weekend isn’t long enough. There’s no maximum stay limit, so you can stay as long as your site is available.
Most sites accommodate 2 vehicles, with overflow parking available free near the back of the property. A dump station is on-site (free for guests, $15 for the public) along with a freshwater fill station.

What's On-Site

Pearl Lake RV Campground packs a lot into one property. The recreation list sets it apart from most campgrounds near Wild Rose, Waupaca, and the surrounding area.
The swimming pond has a water slide and sand beach. There’s a mini golf course, volleyball and basketball courts, cornhole and horseshoes, an arcade and game room, a playground for younger kids, walking trails through the pines, and a pavilion and recreation hall (free for guests when available).
The on-site bar and grill is a gathering spot, not an afterthought. Live bands play most weekends during the season. The garlic pizza gets mentioned in review after review. It’s the kind of place where you walk over in flip-flops, grab a drink, and end up staying for the whole set.
Saturday morning kids’ activities run throughout the season, and there’s adult entertainment on the calendar all summer long. Bingo, raffles, themed weekends, and group outings (Brewers games, for example) keep the schedule full.

Leave the Screens Behind

Pearl Lake RV Campground by RJourney puts you under 70-foot pines with a swimming pond, live music at the bar, and a community of families who keep coming back because the formula works. No WiFi. No concrete pads. No pretense. Just sand under your feet, smoke from the fire ring, and a sky full of stars after dark.
