Preservation Point RV Resort covers 230 acres of Old Florida outside Inverness, 12 miles west of I-75 (exit 329) on State Road 44. Oaks and cypress, a catch-and-release pond, frontage on Lake Tsala Apopka, and sandhill cranes that walk through camp most mornings like they own it. They were here first, so they sort of do.
All 221 sites are concrete pads with full hookups: 50/30/20-amp power, water, dual sewer drops, and free Wi-Fi that streams. Pull-throughs fit rigs up to 60 feet, back-ins and pull-ins up to 45. Kayak or canoe the lake, walk the trails, or pull a chair up to one of 2 community fire pits (the wood’s free). Pets are welcome. This is an RV park, so no tents or car camping.
We’re new and still building. A pool, a bathhouse, and laundry are on the way, and we’d rather say that plainly than let you find out at check-in. A laundromat sits 7 minutes up the road in the meantime. Downtown Inverness and the Withlacoochee State Trail, 46 paved miles of old rail line, are both 6 minutes away. Fort Cooper State Park is 12. The manatees at Three Sisters Springs in Crystal River are 25. Tampa and Orlando both land inside 2 hours.
Most guests come for the winter or longer. Monthly sites run on metered electric, and the tax drops off after 6 months, which is why snowbirds, travel nurses, and full-timers settle in here. Preservation Point is one of our snowbird RV parks and long-term RV parks, open year-round. Every site at Preservation Point is a concrete pad with full hookups: 50/30/20-amp electric from a 100-amp pedestal, year-round water, and dual sewer drops. Pull-throughs take rigs up to 60 feet; back-ins and pull-ins up to 45, and 2 vehicles fit beside the RV as long as they stay on the concrete. Tiny homes and converted buses are fine in good condition (email photos first). Fires happen at the 2 community pits, not at the site, and the wood there is free.
You're 6 minutes from downtown Inverness: the 1912 Old Courthouse (Elvis filmed Follow That Dream in the courtroom), the Valerie Theatre, and the Withlacoochee State Trail, 46 paved miles you can ride straight into town. Fort Cooper State Park and its Seminole War history are 12 minutes out. Crystal River's manatees at Three Sisters Springs are 25, Homosassa's underwater boardwalk about 30. Hungry? The Cove Resort and Pub, Cedar River Seafood, and Salty Dogs Steamer are all local calls. Tampa and Orlando sit inside 2 hours for a loud day trip.
