What to Expect New

What to Expect at Cortez RV Resort

1 / 2

Cortez RV Resort sits along Highway 160 in Cortez, CO, your basecamp for Mesa Verde County's nine national parks and monuments.

The Vibe

This is high-desert archaeology country with a comfortable middle. Days run out to cliff dwellings and ancient sites, then the pool, basketball court, and game room pull you back for an easy evening. Explore far, land soft.

A Typical Day

Drive out to Mesa Verde's cliff dwellings in the cool morning, hike a trail or visit a monument by afternoon, then come back to swim, shoot hoops, or settle into the indoor game room as the mesas go gold at dusk.

Best For

It fits history buffs and national-park chasers. Sites run 20, 30, and 50-amp full hookup in pull-through layouts, with cabins and tent sites, and a 3-acre fenced pet walk for the dog.

Good to Know

You're in high desert, so bring sun protection and water for long days at the ruins. The office keeps no standing hours, so route arrivals through the call center. Look for the Cortez Animal Shelter at the end of the drive off Highway 160.
