We are a family-friendly resort, operated as a family, and open all four seasons of the year. We offer 11 comfortable and immaculate lakefront cabins and vacation homes set on a thousand feet of pristine, sandy shoreline along Lake Villard.

We are the fifth generation of families to own and operate Canary Beach Resort, and have made it into the popular, award-winning year-round lake vacation destination that it is today.

The resort is located at 17405 County Road 28, Villard, Minnesota 56385. It is 12 miles south of Alexandria and 6 miles north of Glenwood. Guests arriving after hours should call or text the number posted on the office door for assistance with accessing their site.

Overflow parking is located at the back of the campground behind the office. Each RV site has space for vehicles, and all RV sites have water hook-ups. Guests bringing golf carts must provide proof of insurance to the office.

Change Your Reservation
We know plans can change! Call us at 800-689-6603 and we’ll help you adjust your stay. Text or email changes can’t be accepted.

Grace Period: Change within a few hours of booking — no fee.

Standard Window: Change your dates anytime before the cancellation deadline with no penalty.

Late Changes: After the deadline, changes are still possible (alteration fee applies), subject to availability.

Cancel Your Reservation
If you can’t reschedule, here’s how cancellations work:

Grace Period: Cancel within a few hours of booking — full refund.

Standard Window: Cancel before the deadline — $20 fee for short-term stays, $100 fee for extended stays.

Late Cancellation or No-Show: After the deadline, deposits are partially or fully forfeited (short-term: 100% of deposit; extended stays: 50% of first month’s rent).

Special rules may apply for holidays, events, or natural disasters.

Guests may bring up to two pets unless they verify with the park for approval to bring more. There is a $35 fee per pet. Service animals are allowed in all areas where guests are permitted.
